On November 15th, 2023, the research team of Pattimura University facilitated an enriching experience for local fishing groups, organizing a collaborative fishing expedition at sea. Set against the backdrop of Ambon’s pristine waters, this initiative aimed to foster community engagement while advancing research efforts in marine conservation and sustainable fishing practices. Led by expert researchers and supported by the university’s resources, participants embarked on a journey to explore traditional fishing techniques, exchange knowledge, and promote environmental stewardship. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, fishermen gained valuable insights into responsible fishing methods, marine biodiversity, and the importance of preserving fragile ecosystems.
